Marjo's Studio, the Grange

A 1960s garage at the end of a large garden in the Grange, Edinburgh, has been completely transformed into a contemporary garden room and studio.

This new space will enable the owners to enjoy the garden all year round. It will also be used as a studio to work from home in and as guest accommodation with its own kitchenette and shower room.

The flat roof was replaced by a pitched zinc roof to provide a double height main space. The facades are clad with anthracite grey eternit panels and large sliding doors and rooflights flood the space with light. There is underfloor heating underneath the tiled floor and a woodburning stove for back-up.
