House in Blackness

A pre-war cottage on a smallholding near Blackness has been extensively refurbished and extended to provide a contemporary home for a young family.

The existing cottage has been reconfigured to provide bedroom accommodation. The public rooms; kitchen/dining, living room and family room are contained within a completely new wing, connected to the old building with a glazed entrance link, creating a H-shaped plan with a front entrance court and a sheltered, south-facing rear courtyard.

Large areas of glazing and sliding/folding doors connect the livingroom wing with the timber decking and the west-facing fields beyond.
