Dalrymple Crescent, Edinburgh

The lower ground basement floor of this Victorian semi-detached house in the Grange has been converted to form an open-plan, multi-purpose family space with direct access to the south-facing garden.

The previously dark and damp basement rooms have been knocked together by removing load-bearing masonry walls and inserting steel post and beams to carry the two floors above.

Patio doors open up to the rear garden and the bespoke storage wall hide a small kitchenette and drinks prep area. Oak flooring, bespoke bookcases and a travertine tiled bathroom completes the conversion.
